As a queer South Asian entrepreneur with a background in interior design, social housing, real estate and law, I’m passionate about making homeownership accessible to everyone. I co-founded Husmates as a proptech platform to reimagine homeownership through co-ownership. Under my leadership, Husmates has already closed over $120 million in co-owned real estate deals, creating nearly 200 new homeownership opportunities across the Greater Toronto Area that would otherwise not be possible. Our mission is simple: unlock doors for those who thought homeownership was out of reach.

My path to proptech has been anything but typical. I began my career in interior design and social housing, which gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of home and community. I even took a detour from real estate to serve as Managing Director of my sister’s prominent female-led law firm focused on Personal Injury and Crown litigation – an experience that honed my strategic leadership skills and reinforced my commitment to championing marginalized voices.

Today, I bring this diverse experience to Husmates, where I specialize in transacting multiplex properties uniquely tailored for co-ownership living. I understand the key principles to crafting co-owned homes that balance privacy with shared purpose, and how to navigate the complex legal and financial frameworks that make co-ownership feasible and fair. The results speak for themselves — thriving co-ownership communities that wouldn’t have been possible through traditional single-owner models.
